5 KEY STEPS TO FOOD SAFETY





Listen to 5 Key steps to food safety

STEP 1


Hand washing
Wash your hands before handling food and often during food preparation. Wash your hands after going to the toilet. Wash and sanitize all equipment.

STEP 2

Separate raw and cooked
Good
Keep fruits and vegetables away from raw meat, poultry, and sea foods and from kitchen utensils used for those products.
Bad

If the produce has touched the raw meat, poultry or sea foods throw it out.

STEP 3

Cook food thoroughly



Meat, poultry, eggs and sea foods. Bring foods like soups and stews to boiling to make sure that they have reached 70  or meat and poultry.

STEP 4

Safe water and raw material
Washing raw materials during preparation
Use safe water or treat it safe

STEP 5

Keep foods at safe temperature
  
Safe food storage

Do not leave cooked food at room temperature (or un-refrigerated) for more than 2 hours.
